Phiew!

Kategoriseret under Rotterdam by bloksblog

Phiew! I absolutely do not know what I’ve been doing, but apparently it is a lot. The last two weeks has been very tough and I’ve had a feeling of non accomplishment the whole time… I think it’s time to relax and not worry too much.

I’m really looking forward to return to Copenhagen for three weeks and reflect on all the fun stuff I apparently have been doing. Some of the stuff includes:
-  A fancy smancy party where I made a lot of connections with important people. (or so I’ve been told). Now, this is very hard work!
- Participating as a speaker in a workshop for entrepreneurs (and made even more connections).
- Made a commercial video for Kaospilots in two days.
- Listening to lectures of different kind including some marketing and project design.

And then I spend the whole weekend on www.kaospilots.nl, which I am the webmaster of! I’ve never been master of anything so I’m taking this very seriously and trying to be as mastery as possible. As a master I can do anything I like… for example making up new words that nobody understands and confuse people. Is it working?

I am also a proud facebook adventurer and have now accomplished 310 friends, 175 pictures of me, ignored more requests than accepted and is tagged on one video all in one year!
Take that Anders Fogh.
I do not know what I do on facebook but I’m logged in a lot. Please send me something interesting that I can spend my precious time on.

I am officially not a bumb anymore! I have been sleeping on my new bed and I have a closet with clothes in it! And today I went shopping for socks which was the prick over the i to complete me as another deedy citizen. Soon I’ll also be part of society when I get a contract for the room I live in, so I can registre in this country and pay tax… Yeepii!

Soon I’ll be as hansome and stylish as my collegue Nathaniel on the picture below…Stylish Canadian

Ikea and philosophy

Kategoriseret under Rotterdam by bloksblog

“Hello piece of Scandinavian culture. I welcome you in the mists of Dutch hash and broken German language”.

This was my thought when I first saw Ikea as it was standing there like an erect status symbol of Swedish wealth in southern Rotterdam with its Ø and Å.

The air of my blue mattress had run out because of a puncture and I don’t blame my perfect round bottom! I had to get a bed eventually and now was the opportunity to go to Ikea on a Saturday like every body else- And so I did.
I bought a very nice bed, which is being delivered any moment this evening, and also a rocking chair, that can be interpreted as me getting older (please read the former post about me getting older if confused).
And that is not all. On my way to Ikea on the Tram (Sporvogn) a kid, no older than 10, asked me if I wanted to sit in his seat so I didn’t have to stand! I think I need to shave my beard and start wearing hiphop clothes (That’s the word right? Hiphop…? I’m gonna make you jump jump…?)

But I must say that I felt very grown up last Friday though. I did a workshop for some entrepreneurs on my Authentic Marketing in Amsterdam and they were very happy and asked me to come back in a couple of weeks.
I hope to do this in Denmark in the future as well… (This was a wave with a flag pole, as we say in Danish, to all the big cooperate companies that read this…)

Afterwards I went on to see an acquaintance that I meet two weeks ago whilst I was in Amsterdam the last time. She is a British girl that tries to make a living in the Netherlands while her boyfriend is occupied with his job in DJ-managing. We ended up being a handful of people and my dear team leader Kwela and her boyfriend Carl joined us. I have now learned that whiskey apparently does not give me hangovers and ordering nuts in a Dutch bar results in getting fancy bird seeds.

Anyways, Amsterdam for me is a beautiful city and the soul of the city is very easy to find like Copenhagen. But Rotterdam is rough and about money so I’m still soul searching my new residence. There is everything from water channels to sharwarma but no hidden cafes or personal touch. I guess I’ll have to make that my self. ☺

The picture is my room before and after (The bed just arrived!).

Nicholas’ world

Kategoriseret under Rotterdam by bloksblog

soooooo….

My room is ready and I now officially is moved in and all I need is a bed. I sleep on an air madras and I get out of bed by starting of in small full-body jumps until the vibration gets so great that “WUPTI” I suddenly stand up…

My stuff has been put in places where I think they belong and I’ve build my Ikea closet that actually is from Leen Bakker. A very cheap discount chain that reminds me of Ikea on weed. Yes, it exists, a cheaper place than Ikea.

I have started a great wall painting of a city in my room and I’ve also gone back into the whole painting and drawing mode again. It comes and goes but I got inspired by a fellow Kaospilot who I decided to write a children’s book with and we also would do the drawings. Maybe my nieces and my nephew could give me some feedback on the story because I think I just will tell bad jokes instead of telling a story.

After several people in my life have told me to start reading Sophies’ world I finally bought it and WHOA! Why didn’t anybody tell me to read this. Oh, wait… Right! Great book, and it completely tells why I had to foggin’ (no swearing kids) go all the way to freakin’ Rotterdam.
I have had a lot of philosophical thoughts lately and is working on this theory of how everything intervenes and we must have winter to appreciate summer, rain to love the sun and we must know how it is to be sad to feel happy. And how we one day must understand this so that human kind comes together as individuals and make this planet a nice place to be. But then again, I couldn’t open my can of tuna last evening so what do I know, eh?

Anyways, in the society as we know it, I am maybe setting up a workshop for business people on how to make their company more personal and authentic. Also, we are having an open house on Thursday for people interested in Kaospilots, and everything from Red Bull to Unichef is showing up. Better put on a tie!

Thor just turned 29 and David has become an editor at TV2! Also, he tells me stories about people getting pregnant… Not him though but an unnamed very good friend in our social circle! Just talked to Simone who I haven’t seen in 15 years and I moved to Canada 10 years ago and came back in 1999.
How we are getting older my friends and yet I always smile as an ignorant child and do hand stands in middle of classes (ask my team mates, they are getting annoyed of me kicking them in the head when flipping upside-down)
See ya on the flip side.

This is one of the normal school days….
